IMPORTANT ART INFO

SCARCITY
Due to Elliott's relentless perfectionism and the intense creativity in each piece, despite decades of full time commitment, often working 100 hours a week, he has accomplished just 400 works. Less than a Dali or Renoir. The consistency of excellence however, is unsurpassed. Elliott can spend 425 hours - an entire summer - on a single image. This radically limits output so the work is rare. Many pieces are already difficult or impossible to get.

EXCLUSIVITY
Elliott innovated the idea of one-offs or a tiny number of originals in the early 70s. The average number from the same image is about three. As with all things hand made, the pieces vary to some degree - often quite radically. Different sizes may exist within the stated number and different processes may be used. Elliott calls them 'originals' as in sculpture, because there are never more than ten and no proofs or 'alternative editions' are allowed to exist. In 1987 the maximum was reduced from ten to eight. The minimum is still one. All of this naturally adds to the exclusivity and value of the art.

BY THE ARTIST'S OWN HAND
Elliott creates everything in the images himself. No assistants, no hired artists or craftsmen. Not only that, but all Elliott originals are printed by the Artist's own hand. This is not art by proxy.

SIGNED AND DATED
All Elliott originals are signed and dated. No exceptions.
